Common questions

A barcode won't scan. Hold it about a hand's width away and let it fill the dashed frame, tap 2x for small codes, and turn on the light in dim places. Shiny or curved labels scan better at a slight angle. You can also take a photo and use Scan from Photo.

Does it look up product prices? No. Barcodes shows the product number, checks its check digit, and can search the web for it. It has no product or price database.

Can it join a Wi-Fi network for me? It shows the network name, security and password from a Wi-Fi QR code, with buttons to copy them. To join, open Settings > Wi-Fi, choose the network and paste the password.

Where are the codes I made? In History, under Created. Codes appear there when you tap Save in the Create tab.

Why does Create say my number is wrong? Product codes end in a check digit calculated from the other digits. Enter the number without its last digit and Barcodes adds the right one, or check the number you copied.

Where is my history stored? On your iPhone, inside Barcodes. Deleting the app deletes it. Barcodes Pro can export it as a CSV file first.

How do I restore Barcodes Pro on a new iPhone? Open Barcodes Pro from the More tab and tap Restore.

How do I cancel Barcodes Pro? In Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Barcodes Pro.
